Buying a puppy that will be your support dog and or family member for some 15 years without being able to visit the breeder and puppies is a scary and often stressful thing. So how do you choose your breeder? Long term reputation is a good start, but more is needed. The Australian Cobberdog is in the final stages of official recognition as a pedigree breed, the result of a dedicated 13-year journey. This recognition ensures that all Cobberdogs are bred to a strict breed standard, which includes comprehensive DNA profiling, health testing, and no inbreeding of bloodlines. The breed is officially recognised by the Master Dog Breeders and Associates (MDBA) worldwide and is celebrated for its unique human focus, making it an outstanding choice as a support, therapy, or companion dog.
At Tegans Australian Cobberdogs, we are deeply committed to maintaining the integrity of the breed. Our puppies are carefully evaluated over a 5-week temperament and development assessment period. This allows us to select the pup whose traits best match your family’s lifestyle and expectations. Puppies are typically matched with their families between 6 to 8 weeks of age.

Tegans care bears are pretty darn amazing so it would be best to book early and be on the wait list, if arrival time does not suit you, you can defer to a later litter and be top of the list. Most of our babies are promised before they are born.
